Artist’s Statement
I am known for my very Special Celebration of Tea. Being highly sensitive, it breaks my heart to see humanity suffer in this turbulent world. I intentionally celebrate life, emphasizing on the good things in life and highly precious moments. Painting everyday occurrences, subconscious desires, family and friends having a cup of tea alone or with dear ones, placing the characters in a natural surrounding, almost fairy like representing intimate inner space of the room and house, where highly precious moments of daily life elevates from mundane statue to the level of celebration, even to a level of rituals. Instead of confronting present day problems of the status of woman in this world, I totally bypass the stigma in favor of positively highlighting and celebrating motherhood, family ties and genuine friendship. My main theme is the human body. Sacrificing facial expressions, investing heavily in compensating this major artistic time proven tool with highly animated bodily expressions. Playing skillfully on the manipulation of scale, gestures and exaggerated proportion to get the message across.
One striking example of this that summarizes my technique, is in the way the hands extend dramatically towards heaven in the gesture of dua, prayer, in the most moving way.

My work promotes unity, love, peace and harmony, I believe my art is the need of today's time the very essence needed to cope with the turbulent world. bringing and spreading much needed positivity.
Another example of family bonds are expressed in intimate intertwine of embracing hands of father, mother and child, ensuring the idea of protection is fully articulated .The whole family is enclosed in a protective human cocoon. Another amazing painting in this context is that in which the mother is depicted as a Tree with hands wide open, not only as if praying but also as embracing the whole world with her children holding on to her.
I meditate through my paintings and hope to bring some peace and positivity through them to my viewers distracting them from the harsh realities bringing some moments of joy! I know life is not a bed of roses. In this turbulent world. I choose and feel the need to intentionally paint the world on positive note seeing the world with rose-colored glasses, celebrating the good things in life. Story -telling of real life characters, everyday occurrences and subconscious desires and fairytale backgrounds are the primary focus of my paintings. Family, friends, society and bonding take main stage. My favorites are the ones in which one is having a cup of tea alone or with family or friends, oblivious of everything , home, work, city and people.
My artistic journey has been an interesting one, but its still the beginning. My work and me are evolving and I hope to explore and touch new horizons! It is a constant process of growth. I hope to reach out through my paintings, to the world, spreading joy, colors and smiles everywhere. The world is in dire need of positivity, happiness and inner peace. I am proud and truly humbled that the viewers immediately sense happiness and inner peace through my paintings. I hope to connect with my viewers through my narratives and symbolism, being therapeutic, at some level and be able to bring joy and inner peace in their lives, as art does the exact thing to me!
